I am a consumer of mental health services for the last 14 years as well as a mental health provider for the past 9 years. I am very interested in the Recovery Model, and consumer-driven wellness and recovery from mnetal illness. Even though these services have been available for many years, it is not everywhere. This is a support group for the mentally ill run by one who has a mental illness. Our purpose is to provide help in any way that is meaningful, working towards recovery. What does that mean? Well that is defined by you. Do you have to have a mental illness to join? No. You do have to have a mental illness for some things (e.g. You cannot start a support group claiming to be consumer led if you do not have a mental illness). But we invite all those who want to support others in recovery to join.
